Christmas Sugar Cookies Royal Icing Recipe Included

Santa will love these beautifully decorated sweet and buttery sugar cookies! Don’t forget the tall glass of milk and carrots for the reindeer! Enjoy and happy baking! 🎄❄️✨ • Ingredients: • 1 cup softened unsalted butter • 1 cup sugar • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract • 1 egg • 2 1/2 cups flour • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder • 3/4 teaspoon salt • Royal Icing • 2 cups powdered sugar • 3 tablespoons milk • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract • food colouring • Directions: • cream together butter and sugar for 4 to 5 minutes • add in vanilla extract and egg and continue mixing • in a separate bowl mix together flour, baking powder and salt; slowly add in mixer and mix until dough comes together; dough should be soft and clump into a ball • refrigerate dough for 1 to 2 hours • roll out dough and use any Christmas shaped cookie cutters you like • place cookies on a lined baking tray these cookies do not spread in the oven • bake at 350F for 15 minutes • this recipe makes about 35 cookies • let cookies cool completely before decorating • for the royal icing mix together powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract to a smooth consistency • add any colour of food colouring you like; if using multiple colours it’s best to pour icing into individual bowls to keep colours separate • the more food colouring you add the deeper the colour will become • transfer icing to a small piping bag and begin decorating your cookies; a Ziploc bag will work too • have fun decorating and let your creativity shine! • enjoy and happy baking! • #sugarcookies #christmassugarcookies #christmascookies #royalicing #icedsugarcookies #cookies #christmasbaking #christmas #merrychristmas #happyholidays #merrychristmashappyholidays #amorofbaking #loveofbaking #homebaker #homebaking #gayleasharejoy #becelbakes #foodnetwork #kitchenaidcanada #winter #snowflakes #stockings #candycane #christmastree #ginerbreadman #star #holidaybaking #baking #christmastime #cookiesforsanta
