video cr: • Наутилус Помпилиус - Концерт в СКК, 1991 • you can read my translation of this song here: https://lyricstranslate.com/ru/skovan... • • I've already translated this song and wrote A LOT of notes under that video, so go there, if you want to read more about the song: • • Nautilus Pompilius - Collective Onus,... • So, this live is pretty old one, so three lines differ from the official version. • “A pink sunset follows the brown dawn.” – it says “pink dawn” in official version. Brown means nazi, as I can understand, so of course that was censored. • “The trains are sluggish here, while the spaces are enormous. • The limbs were crushed here to create columns.” • The words “trains” and “limbs” were swapped here. Actually, the difference between these words in Russian is only one letter: trains are “sostavy”, while limbs are “sustavy”. So, different people hear different things. In the previous translation of this song I’ve used another variant, but here I’ve definitely heard this one. • So, what do these changes mean? Almost nothing, actually. The first line still means that all the progress has stopped (trains are too sluggish and it is impossible to work properly with trains like that in such enormous spaces), while the second line still means that all the people were “crushed” to create easily controlled crowd that will march in columns wherever they’d be told. Probably this way it even becomes easier to understand the meaning.
