ICAH's Participatory Action Research on Given and Chosen Families is an innovative, youth-led, multi-year project addressing all types of families as integral to creating healthy environments and conversations in order for youth to thrive. ICAH's Youth Leadership Council, comprised of 25 youth aged 16-22 based in Chicago, is working to transform public consciousness around the idea of the family unit by examining how young people knit together family units to support their sexual health, rights, and identities. • ICAH works from a reproductive justice framework, which holds that every individual has the right to access the healthcare and education necessary for youth to be safe, affirmed, and healthy. Our research supports this framework by aspiring to influence social thought regarding the role that families have in youth lives. • If you're 16-22, you can take a 20 min survey about your family experiences talking about sex here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GLZVV9J
