DAILY DEVOTIONAL • *TOPIC: MY GATES OPEN * • DEVOTION, WORD FOR THOUGHT AND PRAYERS WITH APOSTLE ABRAHAM ABODERIN • TEXT: Psalm 24:7-10 (NIV) • 7 Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. • 8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. • 9 Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. • 10 Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty – he is the King of glory. • Gates are barriers to progress, and they limit peoples' access. The vulnerability of a fortress or strength is in the strength of its gates. In the old days, a city was fortified by its gates because it is through the gates that enemies come through for attacks. Judges and high rankling officials held courts at the gates to settle disputes and to hand out judgements • Gates are spiritual because they determine what a person will get in life. When a spiritual gate is shut, it will impact the effectiveness of life • As a believer you must not be ignorant of the importance of spiritual gates. Today God is going to pull down every gate that has been shut against you. Only people those that have authority are the ones that have access to • pass through the gates. Access or control of a gate is never given up without a fight or battle. As a believer, you must do battle against the devil and his cohorts who may have shut gates against your life • John 10:7 (NIV) • 7 Therefore Jesus said again, ‘Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. • Jesus Christ is your gate, and He is the one that gives every believer access. Today be assured that God will be lifting and opening ancient gates for you. You could have been fighting a battle for a long time, but today God is going to win those battles for you. Gates that have been locked against you are going to be smashed open today in the name of Jesus. Today you are going to walk into your victory and lay claim to everything that has been locked away from you. Your gates will be open continually and they will not be closed. God is going to open the gates of heaven to pour His blessings over your life in Jesus’ name • PRAYER POINTS • 1. Command that every gate that has been locked against you should be opened in Jesus’ name • 2. Pray that the gates locked against your relationships should be opened in Jesus’ name • 3. Pray that every gate locked against your household and your children be opened in Jesus’ name • 4. Pray against every gate locked against your finances and your health to be opened in Jesus’ name. • Heavenly Father, I open the gates of my heart to You today. Help me to clear away the distractions and worries that have kept me from fully embracing Your presence. You are the King of glory, and I invite You to reign in my life. Lead me, guide me, and fill me with Your peace and strength. May Your glory shine through me as I prepare the way for You, both now and always.
