In this video, I walk through the entire restoration and repair process of this stunning Sony TAN-8550. This is the second video in a two part series which focuses on the Sony TAE-8450 preamplifier and this Sony TAN-8550 power amplifier. • This amplifier needed an extremely comprehensive restoration and overhaul to get it to function better than it was new, for decades to come. Almost every component inside of this amplifier was replaced to assure long term stability and efficiency. After it had been worked on by an idiot with zero respect or knowledge of how to restore a piece of gear properly, I had to undo damage done to many areas in this amplifier.
