Digitalisation and sustainability, how are these two important issues linked together from an ecosystems perspective? 🤔Let's find it out! • At the Bits Pretzels event, we had the opportunity to interview Nadine, Head of Partnering and Ecosystems at Miele. Miele is a German manufacturer of household and professional appliances and is a globally renowned company. • In this interview, we were able to learn more about how a company as big as Miele deals with digitalisation and sustainability from an ecosystem perspective and how Miele understands ecosystems. • Here are some insights from this interview: • By producing energy-efficient products that last more than 20 years, sustainability is an important part of Miele. The same applies to digitalisation: the question for Miele is how to provide new technological features and new experiences for end consumers who have owned Miele products with the same hardware for a long time. Digital features are the key to ensuring that Miele products are still interesting after 10 years. • Miele looks at ecosystems in two ways. One is to open up to other ecosystems, because Miele believes that it's not they who create the ecosystem for the users, but that the users choose their own ecosystem. Miele doesn't want to force ecosystem solutions, but they make sure that they are part of the relevant ecosystems. The second point is to extend the ecosystem solutions for the products to make them more interesting. • To encourage ecosystem mindset, Miele focuses on positive examples and showcases different examples.
