This week in Winescapes with Artists, Deborah chats with Michael Kenna, an artist who focuses on the interaction between natural landscape and human-made structures. Michael captures many of his shots at night through long exposures and with non-digital silver photographic medium. • In this Winescape, Deborah and Michael discuss two works – Catholic Confessionals and Buddhas – both of which explore the cultural and ritualistic sense of religion. Michael enjoys exploring stories that unfold over time, as well as the remains after that moment has passed. • Together, they will discuss the realities that are and aren’t documented in traditions, and photography’s role in capturing them.
