Pasta with Tomato Sauce 🍝🥫 • A quick and easy pasta recipe that is perfect for dinner or meal prep! The dish is affordable, the flavors are savory, and it comes together in less than an hour. Leave out the meat to keep it vegetarian. Cheers! • Ingredients: • -1 box pasta of your choice • -1 lb lean ground beef (optional) • -1 sweet onion, small diced • -1 large can (800g) San Marzano tomatoes • -1/4 cup pasta water • -2 tbs tomato paste • -1 tbs sugar • -1 tsp dried oregano • -1 tsp dried basil • -1/2 tsp red chili flakes • -5 cloves of garlic, minced • -salt and pepper to taste • -parsley for garnish • -nutritional yeast or parmesan (optional) • Instructions: • -bring a large pot of water to a boil and add salt; cover and allow to simmer on low until ready to cook the pasta • -set a large pot or Dutch oven on medium heat and add 3 tbs olive oil • -brown the ground beef and add in the onion and garlic; sauté until onions are translucent • -add salt, pepper, dried basil and oregano, red chili flakes, sugar, and tomato paste; mix well and cook down for a minute • -add in canned tomatoes and cover with a lid; allow to simmer for 5 minutes • -cook pasta to al dente according to instructions • -use a potato masher or large spoon to crush any large chunks of tomatoes • -transfer the cooked pasta directly into the sauce with a bit of pasta water; mix well • -garnish with parsley and optional cheese or nutritional yeast • -enjoy! • #pasta #tomatoes #tomatosauce #mealprep #easyrecipes #dinner #healthyfood #dinnerideas #mealplan #easymeals #highprotein #recipes #homemadefood #mealideas #homecooking #quickmeals
