This tank, a Juwel Primo 70, will be a temporary home for my Juwel Rio 180 fish and shrimps, as I have to tear it down because of a cladophora breakout. About 10 pink ramshorn snails are already in the tank, made possible by using a Microbelift filter bacteria starter gel. The set costs about 90€ on Amazon right now, 130€ in local stores (for whatever reason). My custom hardware additions cost another 120€, the tank's hardscape (including plants) was about 200€. • I decided to buy this tank since I was looking for a closed (it's heated, think of the insane evaporation and fish potentially jumping out of it) and cheap all-in-one tank. Juwel anyway had my attention due to the Rio 180 tank and my good experience with their hardware. • The tank itself doesnt look that good yet since most of the plants are yet too small or melting to switch to submerse growth and due to the bacteria starter its a bit cloudy. • Juwel Primo 70 set consits of: • 1x Filter: Juwel BioFlow One • 1x Heater: Juwel AquaHeat 50W • 1x Light: Juwel NovoLux 60 (8W, 620 Lumen) LED • 1x Tank dimensions: 61x31x41cm (including the lid, which is called PrimoLux 60) • https://www.juwel-aquarium.de/Produkt... • The Novolux got replaced by a WellerLED.com LED set called Süßwasser 40cm bis 60cm Aquarien, viel Licht - Set 1 - plug and play which has about 2100 Lumen with two LED stripes, and a bluetooth compatible controller (which also enables a sunrise and sunset animation). • https://wellerled.com/epages/18198946... • The PrimoLux 60 lid of this tank set would, by design, allow the installation of up to three Novolux tubes à 8W, but this would require three separate AC adapters and Day Night controllers - a waste of money and power plugs. The WellerLED set costs the same as two Novolux and has more power and a better usability. • The BioFlow One would also house the heater, however, I prefer to use the space for an additional sponge and bio media (Juwel Cirax) and keep the heater separated. • The background foil is an expensive (20€ for a bit of plastic), semi-transparent ADA gradation sheet from blue to white which I installed on all of my aquariums. As much as I hate ADA and other overpriced brands, I have to admit that I dont know a better background foil out there at the moment. • I also bought a cheap 25€ CO2 splitter from Amazon to reuse the CO2 system of my Aquael shrimp tank so I dont need to buy another co2 bottle, magnetic valve and pressure reducer. The needle valves of this splitter are a bit tricky to get used to, but I don't adjust them every day anway.. • https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B094... • Plants: • 1x Pogostemon helferi (Kleiner Wasserstern) - Topf • 1x Dennerle Hemianthus callitrichoides - Topf • 1x Dennerle Cryptocoryne Parva - Topf • 1x Dennerle Anubias nana Bonsai (Bonsai-Speerblatt) - Topf • 1x Tropica Alternanthera reineckii Mini • 1x Tropica Marsilea crenata (Zwergkleefarn) - InVitro • 1x Tropica Cryptocoryne parva (Zwerg-Wasserkelch) - Topf • 1x Tropica Bucephalandra sp. Red - Topf • 1x Dennerle Hygrophila pinnatifida (Fiederspaltiger Wasserfreund) - Topf • 1x Limnophila sessiliflora (Blütenstielloser Sumpffreund) - Topf • 1x Alternanthera reineckii Lilacina - InVitro • 1x Rotala rotundifolia 'Pink' - Topf • Hardscape: • Natural stone rocks • Driftwood • White, lime-free silica sand (foreground) • Tropica powder aquasoil (background) • Masterline root tabs (in the sand)
