A bizarre Ed Wood film about transvestism, from the 1950s. It's filled with sexism and racism that comically confounds the message of equality. • Glen or Glenda reflects Ed Wood's real life. He plays a transvestite. In real-life, he was a transvestite. His girlfriend (played by his real-life girlfriend Dolores Fuller) struggles to come to terms with him being a transvestite. • At times, it's very well done. It's mixed in with quite a lot of the absurd. For instance, at one point it's claimed that we should abandon men's clothing because the hats are too tight. It'd be better just to give up hats. Or make them looser. • It's all quite a watch.
