Napsan Beach Palawan day trip from Puerto Princesa on enduro bike

A video I made during a day trip from Puerto Princesa to Napsan Beach on Palawan on an enduro off-road motorbike. • | Read the story below | • After two weeks in Port Barton, and before flying out from Palawan, we got to spend 6 days in Puerto Princesa. We had plenty of time to do another nice excursion to Palawan’s astounding wilderness. For our transport means we chose to rent a CRF 150 enduro bike. We rented it from a dude whose shop’s name is Gibbsyan, located near the junction of Rizal Avenue and the National Highway, for 650 pesos per day. For our destination, we chose Napsan Beach. • Napsan Beach is the closest and most easily accessible west-coast beach from Port Princesa. It is 53 km away from Puerto Princesa. The road is paved in its entire length and in excellent condition for Palawan’s standards. On the enduro bike, it took us slightly more than an hour to get there. • How to get to Napsan Beach • Follow the National Highway out of the city center. Take a left on highway 490, where a Jolly Bee and a Caltex petrol station are located (junction coordinates: 9.7638, 118.7472). Stay on the same road for some 20 km. You will drive past Sicsican and Irawan villages and a bridge over Iwahig River. About 3 km after the bridge, right on a sharp left curve, you take a right. Sign to Napsan Beach is present. Junction coordinates: 9.7135, 118. 6666. You then drive straight one traffic-free road until Napsan Village. • In order to get down to the beach, we needed to drive through a narrow dirt track. We then got with our bike onto the beach and got to drive up and down along its entire length. It was extremely long: several kilometers. And there was hardly any civilization along its entire length. We only saw a small private resort and some scattered-here-and-there fishermen houses. The sea was absolutely lovely, clear, deep, and sand-bottomed. We settled at a nice spot under a coconut tree and spent there several idle hours, in and out from the sea. • By late afternoon, we drove back to the village and a few km along the coastal road leading southwest to reach another idyllic beach situated on Bobosawen Bay. We spent there some time, climbing coconut trees, making friends with local children, and staring at the distant, marine horizon.
