Oak Grove COE Campground Tour Sardis Mississippi

Oak Grove Army Corps of Engineers Campground Tour located in Sardis, Mississippi • Rainy day but with a view...or should I say rainy days but with a view? We had a few rainy days while staying at sprawling Oak Grove Campground in Sardis, Mississippi. However, we enjoyed some warm and sunny weather during our little stay here. Oak Grove Campground is located on the small lower lake (Lake Sardis) but you can access the upper lake within a couple minutes drive. The upper lake stretches to the horizon! • What we love about Oak Grove Campground: • 1. Sewer! We had a sewer site but know that not all sites have sewer. They • are adding more sewer sites, though. • 2. Spacious Area - green space, beautiful trees, plentiful roads to walk the • pups • There are day use areas adjoining this park with grassy, treed park • settings and a swim beach. • 3. Spacious sites - most sites had plenty of personal space • 4. Plenty of activities to keep you busy - hiking nearby, fishing, bike riding • park roads, watching sunrises and sunsets, boating, swim beach nearby • 5. Water Views • What we didn't love about Oak Grove Campground: • 1. Trash - trash in some fire rings, trash thrown beside park roads (food wrappers, cans, abandoned flat float, discarded rib and chicken bones, broken glass...) There was trash along the shores of the lake. There were plenty of trash cans in the park and adjoining day use areas. They were not full or overflowing. • 2. Limited Verizon service - We can't speak of other carriers but Verizon was very weak here and at some points unusable. • 3. We mentioned grass was high here, but it's summer and rainy so grass grows quickly. Mowers were cutting the grass before we left. • Overall, a nice peaceful park with water views and plenty to do. Bonus if you can nab a sewer site.
