It was founded in 2004 under the leadership of Artistic Director and Choreographer Noemi Araxi, herself a former honored dance soloist with the Armenian National Ballet in Yerevan, Armenia. • Since making its debut, ARAX Dance has gained recognition with a string of cultural performances throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, and journeyed in 2012 to New York by invitation for a dedicated performance honoring the late editor and Armenian translator Aris Sevag.
