We made this video for Avocet to show how to easily fit their product. • http://www.clockworkeye.co.uk • Transcript: • • The fitting of the Avocet ABS diamond rated lock is a simple and straightforward process. • But before we show you that process let me show you how to get the right size lock for • your door. • The two measurements required to ensure that you get the correct lock for your door are • the internal an external measurements. • First locate the securing screw that holds the lock in place. • This is located in the centre of the door frame in line with the lock. • If in doubt remove the existing cylinderand measure. • Using in the millimeter scale on your tape or ruler take the internal measurement. • This is taken from the centre of the securing screw to the outer edge of the handle • backplate. • Secondly take the external measurement, this is also taken from the center of the securing • screw to the outer edge of the handle backplate. • It is recommended the lock protrude no more than three millimeters from the handle • backplate. • If you haven't already purchased your ABS Diamond Grade cylinder lock then you can find • your nearest ABS elite locksmith by simply visiting our website and choose one of our • suppliers the link below will take you straight there. • Once you have purchased your ABS Diamond Grade cylinder lock you will notice that there • are four components to the product: • The lock itself; an assortment securing screws; a set of three keys; and the registration • card. • For now if you can put the card somewhere safe and we'llcome back to this later. • To remove the old lock locate the screw that we measured from the beginning of this video • and using a suitable screwdriver remove it. • Then insert the key and turn it to a five to the hour position while pulling gently. • Remove the old lock. • Before fitting your new ABS lock it might help to loosen the handle back plate. • You'll notice that the letters EXT are engraved on the side of the lock. • This indicates the external part of the lock when fitted in the door. • Insert the key into the side at the locking engraved EXT with the key slightly turned so • the cam is flush with the body of the lock push the lock into the door and gently maneuver • in to place. • Insert the securing screw and tighten. • And most importantly test the lock functions. • Now as you can see really is that easy isn't it Maureen? • Yes it is. • And the last thing to do is register your key code with ABS Secure. • To do this simply go to our website ABS-secure.co.uk and click the register keys button or • call 01484 725 601 • Registering gives you the opportunity to retrieve your key code details at a later date • should you lose your card. • Registering also allows you to password-protect key cutting of your keys • To find out more information please feel free to browse our website • ABS, security locked in, intruders, locked out!
