In this video I will show you how you can make and fire one of the most simple Potter Kilns there is - a Oil Drum (barrel) based Pitfire Kiln. • It is super easy to make. Just get a full size Oil Drum (I got one for less than $10), drill a few holes in the bottom (for drainage) and a few in the sides. I drilled 3 x 4 holes approx 30 cm above the bottom. That seems to work fine. • That's it! Now you have a kiln. • Next step is preparing your pots and fire them. There are many ways to do this but I will show you one that I like, using a combination of combustibles, some chemicals and wrapping it all up in a tin foil saggar. • I hope you enjoy this Raku video.
