Stromanthe Sanguinea Tricolor REPOTTING

This beauty was long due for repotting. I used a mix containing peat moss and some perlite, and I mixed it with pumice. • To get the plant out, I used a butter knife, I stuck it between the soil and the pot and pushed the knife inside, towards the plant. I rotated the pot a bit and repeated, until I did a full circle. The plant then came out easily. • I loosened the roots, tried to get rid of as much of old soil as I could and potted into fresh soil. • As a reminder, soil structure is very important for the health of your plants. If you've ever heard of people repotting their plants when they can't figure out what's wrong with them, that makes a lot of sense. Besides light, as the no. 1 factor in plant growth, and proper watering, soil structure is the next important thing. . • The purpose of soil is to provide stability to the plant, to provide nutrition and hold water. And to provide oxygen.
