Here I attempted to do a complete dis-assembly, cleaning, and reassembly of an original Winchester 1892 that was built 1904 according to the serial number look up websites. • Another great design by John Browning. With production running from 1892 to 1932, Winchester produced just over one million guns in this model. • Got this particular one at an auction in 2003, would be graded out as poor, so I figured I couldn't hurt it any more. The lever action was completely jammed and no reasonable amount of force on the lever would get the action to open. I wanted to see if I could find out what was causing that, clean it up and get it to where it would shoot again. Unfortunately I was unable to get the hammer pivot screw out, after some repeated attempts I gave up and settle for just cleaning it up the action, barrel, magazine tube, wood stock and fore-grip the best I could. • This one is in .38 wcf or .38-40 caliber, and now seems like it can fire again. I have a box of shells on the way and should be test firing it soon. • Check out some of the values for these Winchesters at: http://www.gunsinternational.com/Winc...
