Is desalination an applicable approach in your region? • To meet the rising water demand, the globe should turn to unconventional water resources, such as the ocean, which is both drought-proof and limitless. • Saudi Arabia gets 50% of its drinking water from desalination plants, and it's projected to increase the treatment capacity (UN Environment Program). • Currently, desalination is twice as expensive as treating rainwater or wastewater, costing around $3 (£1.95) per cubic meter (depending on the method). However, the cost has been steadily falling due to technological advancement, but the globe can yet do more to harness the power of the oceans at a reasonable price. • —————————————————————————— • For more informative content, join us on the following social platforms: • LinkedIn: Sanaullah Salam • YouTube: https://lnkd.in/dfa-8cTQ • Facebook: https://lnkd.in/dSzeQfZk • Facebook: https://lnkd.in/ghDjByms
