The four track EP released in April of 2014 found the storied UK producer showcasing some of the most diverse and poignant work of this career. Now to kick off 2015 we see four brand new interpretations courtesy of Dubspeeka, Jamie Stevens, Pedram and Petrels who all have been selected by King Unique himself as his own personal dream team for this project. 'I've picked these remixers simply on the grounds that their music's affected me personally in the last year or two.' explains King Unique. 'I first encountered Pedram when I used his Park Hill 'Beres' track on KU Broadcast 25, a beautiful deep melodic house track. I've heard hours of his forthcoming album material since its staggeringly good. He's approaching melodic music from a solid house/bass background, sort of a mirror approach to my own of late.' 'Dubspeeka is a profound influence of the last 12 months; his focus on beats the freedom to switch in out of standard 4/4 rhythms has informed a lot of recent my thinking about the relationship between bass beats - a much needed kick up the arse.' 'Jamie Stevens also helped kick start my KU 'rebirth' last year by letting me put horrible huge ugly bass under his very beautiful 'Wonder Of You', and didn't kick off when I failed to deliver the beautiful thoughtful melodic remix we'd both expected - so I've returned the favour. He's punished 'Some Break' with one of his fiercest techno workouts on record.' 'Petrels - quite simply a dream come true to have Oli Barrett on this release. Since I heard his otherworldly 'Concrete' I've been an avid fan of his fierce and beautiful ambient noise-core experiments. He's taken on 'Without Boxes' recorded surging walls of electronics dozens upon dozens of takes of cello. It's like a whole universe in 12 minutes.' 'Lastly Natalie I stripped 7 Hours back to the song that lies underneath all the studio trickery. The 'No Makeup Mix' exposes us with just her voice guitar and me playing a 1976 Eminent Theatre Organ - no sequencers allowed.' Label Press Text: One of 2014's most sought after remixers was undoubtedly Dubspeeka. The Bristol based producer is perhaps best known for being one half of the much loved Kosheen project which yielded one of electronic music's finest ever records in 'Hide You'. The Dubspeeka production moniker has already amassed an impressive discography with releases on Bedrock, Drumcode, Ideal Audio, Suara and his own Skeleton imprint. For his '7 Hours' interpretation Dubspeeka has stripped the beastly original right down and overhauled it into a romping techno workout. It's tension filled drive is offset with sombre synths and vibrant electronics which pierce the atmosphere with electric flair. The second and final interpretation of '7 Hours' is provided by Pedram who is making his first appearance on microCastle. The UK based producer has worked under a wide assortment of alias' and has become a favourite of Anja Schneider, Dusky, Paul Woolford, Nic Fanciulli, Midland, Tensnake and many others. A release on James Zabiela's Born Electric remains a discography highlight and he's gotten 2015 off to a great start with a massive interpretation of '7 Hours'. Backed by a warm, round and well carved groove Pedram's vocal edits, epically styled synth work and detailed textures takes the tougher original into blissful, end of the night territory. The lone interpretation of 'Some Break' is provided by microCastle label artist Jamie Stevens. The Aussie producer is now making his fourth appearance on the label and first of 2015. Jamie has achieved an amazing level of critical and commercial success over the course of his career. • ► microCastle ♫ • / microcastle • / microcastle • / microcastleofficial • / microcastle • http://www.beatport.com/label/microca... • ► Jamie Stevens ♫ • / jamiestevens • / jamiestevensmusic • http://www.beatport.com/artist/jamie-... • ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ • Follow Me On Facebook: http://bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautFB • Follow Me On Soundcloud: http://bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautSC • ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ • Wallpaper: http://i.imgur.com/OdTPWmg.jpg
