Here we define what a u tube manometer is and do calculations to understand it better. • Thank you to those who keep funding me via •   / kisemboacademy   for supporting the production of these videos. • Pressure Measurement - Manometers Working Principle - Vaious types of Manometers. Manometers are one of the oldest type of pressure measurement. Manometers can be used to measure gauge pressure, differential pressure and absolute pressure. U tube is made of glass. The tube is filled with a fluid known as Manometer fluid. • pressure in gases is measured using a U tube manometer. One side of the manometer is always connected to the gas supply, the very gas whose pressure must be determined while the other side is open to the atmosphere following the property of pressure in liquids which states that the pressure in liquids is independent of cross sectional area / shape of container; the liquid levels in both limbs of the manometer will first be the same but when the gas pressure is turned on / when gas pressure is connected to one side of the manometer, there is a difference in height levels of the liquid in both sides of the manometer which then enable us to calculate for the gas pressure. • #Physicsmaths • #mechanics • #generalPhysics
