The ROKS Sejong the Great DDG-991 is the first ship in her class with the same name, Sejong the Great-class destroyer. The Sejong the Great-class destroyers, also known as KD-III, are guided missile destroyers of the Republic of Korea Navy. There have been 3 ships in this class manufactured including: DDG-991, DDG-992 and DDG-993. • The ROKS Sejong the Great DDG-991 destroyer is equipped with a combined gas turbine propulsion system. Four General Electric LM2500 gas turbines driving the two shafts provide a total power output of 100,000 Shaft horsepower. The ship systems are powered by three Rolls-Royce AG9140RF gas turbine generator sets.
