Only a few I mean maybe 3 to 5 places in the US maybe the world provide this treatment. WHY IS THIS? • • About 85% of people who have it report more pain after. 99.99% of the time due to TIME alone as we age the fusion will fail. The pins/screws will bend and or break. • • In order to create BONE to BONE contact the amazingly protective cartlidge over the SI Joint surface must be removed. • • This can never be replaced and or made to regrow. As many people find out only after having the surgery reversed. • • COST for the Surgery is about $20 to $30 thousand not including cost of Consults, tests, xrays, and airfair and lodging to stay near the treatment center. • • For most people these places will be out of their medical insurance area of coverage. So check into what they will or won't cover before making your first appointment. • • Lastly even if 100% of the fusion takes and the bone graft fro mthe good side goes as planned. The good SI Joint if both are not bad will eventually fail. • • While 2 to 4mm is an amazingly tiny amount of movement compared to how big we are... That little movement is in place for a reason. • • If the pain you feel is being supplied by nerves from your ANTERIOR or front side... Then all the fusion in the world will do little to provide help. • • Medical science as of yet can't safely enough access the SI Joint from the front. And, this is why it's only accessed from the Posterior side of us. • • I'm not saying the Surgery is not for you. You might be one of the 15% or less that it actually helps. • • You might be one of the 1% that it will not fail on in time. Maybe you will never fall as you age, maybe your bones won't get brittle and thin a little as time goes on... • • So it can in fact HELP people. But, before jumping in please ask your DR or Doctors as I did... What do you think of this treatment for me? • • If they say don't do it. Ask them why they say not to do it. Ask what are the risks involved, what are the statistics on it helping people... • • ASK all sorts of questions. • • Nothing is 100% going to work. That includes doing NOTHING at all. • • So be the most informed Patient you can, and always INCLUDE your Doctors in ALL information you learn about.
