Help! What's going on with my African Grey? • Well, he/she is practicing natural behaviour. It's actually healthy seasonal hormonal behaviour, and not a sign of illness. • All healthy animals display behaviour typical to their species during breeding season, which in most cases is winter. • Bhidi in this video is a healthy 34 Year old #AfricanGreypParrot, who was recently surrendered to us after being cagebound all these years. We cannot stress enough that we do not commercially, nor intentionally, breed birds. Bhidi does not have a bird partner although he is free to mingle with the other birds. #africangreymating #parrotsmating #parrotmatingbehavior • We do not endorse caging birds, unless for medical, quarantine or another reason which justifies such confinement. #Cageboundbirds require their cages when in a foreign environment, and whilst they are undergoing rehabilitation, just as a bird may be out of the cage all day but is used to sleeping in a cage at night. • I recall my first encounter ever with a hormonal Grey, Charlie, who I was terrified of.
