Are you in sales and find it difficult to manage your time? Are you usually putting out fires rather than finding new customers? It's essential to manage your time well in order to be successful in sales. When you fail to plan, you plan to fail. • Time management will allow you to focus on the aspects of your job that drive revenue for your company, not to mention your own income. • First, start with the big picture. Outline your goals for the entire year - both business goals and personal goals. Having a balance between your life and your work will create a more conducive environment for success. Write down things like the income you'd like to make, vacations you'd like to take, and time you'd like to spend with your family. • Next, break it down into monthly, weekly, and daily goals. Some daily activities to consider are actions to work towards your account, revenue, and income goals like 30 minutes of planning, schedule prospecting, schedule sales time, schedule proposal writing, sending and responding to email, and schedule voicemail time. Ask for help from your sales manager or customer support team to put out fires so that you can focus on selling. • When you succeed to plan, you plan to succeed.
