My French silk pie is a chocolate pie with a pretzel crust, real whipped cream and chocolate shavings. • ►Subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/cookinginnanc... • FOLLOW NANCI ORDER FROM HER BAKERY • ►FaceBook:   / nancisbakeshop   • ►Instagram:   / nancisbakeshoppe   • ►Tumblr:   / www   • ►Twitter:   / nancisbakeshopp   • #CINHK #CookingInNancisHomeKitchen #NancisBakeShoppe • ▼FRENCH SILK PIE RECIPE▼ • ======================== • Pretzel Crust: • =========== • Ingredients: • •2 cups pretzels • •2 tablespoons brown sugar • •4 tablespoons melted, unsalted butter • Directions: • •Preheat an oven to 350 degree oven. • •Put the pretzels in a food processor and pulse until the pretzels are almost reduced to a powder. • •Add in the brown sugar and pulse until incorporated. • •Pour in the melted, unsalted butter and pulse until incorporated. • •Pour the pretzel mixture into a pie plate and remove any large chunks of pretzel. • •Press the pretzel mixture into the bottom and partially up the sides of the pie plate. • •Bake in a 350 degree oven for 8 minutes. • •Let cool to room temperature. • Chocolate Ganache • ================ • Ingredients: • •1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips • •1 cup heavy cream • •1 cup room temperature, unsalted butter • •1 ½ cups sugar • •9 tablespoons sugar • •2 tablespoons vanilla extract • •2 teaspoons vanilla extract • •4 ounces melted, unsweetened chocolate • •2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder • •4 eggs • •1 chocolate bar • Directions: • •Put the semi sweet chocolate in a mixing bowl. • •Pour the heavy cream into a sauce pan and heat of over medium heat until it starts to boil. • •Once bubbles begin to form in the heavy cream, immediately remove it from the heat and pour over the semi sweet chocolate chips. • •Cover the chocolate and cream mixture with a lid and let sit for 10 minutes. • •Whisk the melted chocolate and cream together. • •Let the chocolate mixture cool to room temperature. • •Refrigerate for at least 4 hours. • Pie Filling • ======== • Ingredients: • •1 cup room temperature, unsalted butter • •1 ½ cups sugar • •4 ounces melted, unsweetened chocolate • •2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder • •2 teaspoons vanilla extract • •4 eggs • Directions: • •In a mixing bowl, mix the room temperature, unsalted butter and sugar until incorporated. • •Add the melted, unsweetened chocolate and incorporate. • •Add the unsweetened cocoa powder and incorporate. • •Add the vanilla extract and incorporate. • •Add an egg and mix for 5 minutes. • •Repeat adding an egg at a time and mixing for 5 minutes. • • Vanilla Whipped Cream • =================== • Ingredients: • •2 cups heavy cream • •2 teaspoons vanilla extract. • •3 tablespoons sugar • Directions: • •In a stand mixer, fitted with the whisk attachment, beat the cream, vanilla extract and sugar until stiff peaks form. • Assembly: • ======== • Ingredients: • •pretzel pie crust • •chocolate ganache • •pie filling • •vanilla whipped cream • •1 chocolate bar • Directions: • •Spoon the chocolate ganache into the pretzel pie crust and spread the ganache over all of the bottom of the crust. • •Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. • •Pour the pie filling into the pie plate and evenly spread over the chocolate ganache and pie crust. • •Refrigerate for at least 4 hours. • •Spoon the vanilla whipped cream onto the pie filling and evenly spread. • •Using a potato peeler shave slices of chocolate off of a chocolate bar directly onto the vanilla whipped cream layer of the pie. • •Refrigerate until ready to serve.
