The readings on the dial have to be converted to Rockwell B readings. They are not direct readings. • This is a torture test by some guys comparing wear on an AR between brass cased ammo vs. steel cased ammo, but even they say that in all likelihood, most people will never shoot 10,000 rounds through their AR-15 • and at the time the experiment was done brass ammunition was calculated at $130 per thousand higher than steel and replacement barrels at $250 apiece. meaning, if you bought 2,000 rounds of brass ammo, you could have bought the same amount of steel cased ammo and a new barrel. so either way you are gonna pay...lol • http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/brass...
