In this video, the ABCD - Parameters (Transmission parameters) of the two-port network are explained and the condition of Reciprocity and Symmetry for the ABCD parameters are derived. • By watching this video, you will learn the following topics: • 0:00 Introduction • 0:21 ABCD - Parameters of the Two-Port Network • 5:50 Condition for Reciprocity for ABCD - Parameters • 9:17 Condition for Symmetry for ABCD - Parameters • ABCD - Parameters : • The ABCD parameters also known as the transmission parameters. Because, typically, they are used in the transmission networks and very useful in the analysis of transmission lines. • Sometimes they are also known as the cascade or chain parameters because when two or more systems are cascaded then for the analysis of such cascaded system, the ABCD parameters are very useful. • The ABCD parameters are used in the telephone systems as well as in microwave networks and radar systems. • This parameter relates the voltage and current on the input side with the voltage and current on the output side. • For ABCD - parameters, V1 and I1 are dependent variables, while V2 and I2 are independent variables. • And V1 and I1 can be expressed as • V1 = A*V2 - B*I2 • I1 = C*V2 - D*I2 • Where, A = V1/V2, when I2 = 0. • A is known as the reverse voltage gain • C = I1/V2, when I2 =0 • C is known as transfer admittance • B = V1/(-I2), when V2 =0 • B is known as transfer impedance • D = I1/(-I2),when V2=0 • D is known as the reverse current gain • What is the Reciprocal Network? Condition for Reciprocity • A Two-Port network is said to be a Reciprocal network if the ratio of excitation at one port to the response at other port is the same if the excitation and the response are interchanged. • Condition for Reciprocity: AD - BC = 1 • What is the Symmetrical Network? Condition for Symmetry • A Two-Port network is said to be a Symmetrical network, if the ratio of Voltage to the current at one port is same as the ratio of the voltage to the current at the other port, with one of the port open-circuited. • Condition for Symmetry: A = D • #TwoPortNetwork • #ABCDparameters • This video will be helpful to everyone in understanding the ABCD - parameters of the Two-port Network. • Follow my second channel: • / @allaboutelectronics-quiz • Follow me on Facebook: • / allaboutelecronics • Follow me on Instagram: • / all_about.electronics • Music Credit: • http://www.bensound.com/
