And, as much as we'd love to say we planned this – it was thanks to a local for giving us the heads up that the 124th Rochester Lilac Festival was happening! • Growing up in an old New England farmhouse, we of course had gigantic lilac bushes. What is it about Lilacs? Is it the timing… coming shortly after a long winter, is it the fleeting life of the blooms, or that recognizable scent that wafts in the air? For me, as a young child, it was rushing out on Mother’s Day morning hoping to find enough blooms to present to my mom.
