You can't script this 😮‍💨 • ———————————— • DAY 1: FRI 25 OCT 📍 • We leave Porirua and head to Rotorua (6hrs) for the long weekend – I'm running an event for coaching clients the next day, and many are traveling to be there. • Kids have been excited about the trip too. • 10AM 🤕 • Not even an hour into the trip and I hear a bang, followed by a grinding sound, and sparks in my rearview mirror. • The axel snapped on SH1, just before Levin. • Our first words? This is gonna be fun. • We've understood the goodness of God to a point where we can be in total rest. • So we wait in the car, pouring with rain, until the tow truck arrives. • 10.30AM 😇 • Two strangers, Father Son, pull out of the driveway where we broke down and take me and my family into their home for food and warmth while we wait. • Angels in disguise. Tom Mike. • 12PM 🚑 • Tow truck arrives and local engineers take us in. Incredible service for a Friday and long weekend – shout out to Chuck Jessie at Central Automotive services in Levin. • 4PM ✅ • Engineers call to say they fixed our caravan, and we're back on the road. • God is good. • 10.30PM 😌 • We arrive safely and happily in Rotorua. • ———————————— • DAY 2 👨‍🏫 • Coaching event • DAY 3 🌲 • Redwood tree walk, and dinner with the Kelly-Mather family • DAY 4-7 🥳 • Hamilton for Nona's bday • DAY 8 🚂 • Awakeri Rail Adventure • DAY 9-10 🏝️ • Gisborne Top 10 camp, speaking at The Meeting Place church in Te Karaka, marshmallows with Joc and Maata-Te Ao, dinner with Frank and Monique at Lone Star. • DAY 11 ❤️ • Break at Lake Tutira, evening with Grandad and Grandma in Hastings. • DAY 12 🏠 • Home • ———————————— • 12 days. What a journey! There is so much goodness for all of us to enjoy with God, it's not just for a select few.
