This is a relatively easy process that can be done by anyone with basic technical skills. • Tools and Materials: • iFixit MacBook Pro 13 inch (Early 2015) Battery Replacement Kit • Phillips screwdriver • Suction cups (optional) • Isopropyl alcohol (optional) • Steps: • Disconnect your MacBook Pro from power and back up your data. • Open the clamshell of your MacBook Pro. • Remove the screws that secure the back cover. • Gently lift the back cover off of your MacBook Pro. • Disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard. • Remove the screws that secure the battery to the case. • Gently lift the battery out of the case. • Clean the adhesive residue from the case and the new battery. • Apply new adhesive to the back of the new battery. • Place the new battery in the case and secure it with the screws. • Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. • Replace the back cover and secure it with the screws. • Turn on your MacBook Pro and calibrate the new battery. • Tips: • If you have difficulty removing the back cover, you can use suction cups to help. • If the adhesive is difficult to remove, you can use isopropyl alcohol to soften it up. • Be careful not to damage the battery connector or the motherboard when disconnecting and reconnecting it. • Calibrate your new battery by charging it to 100% and then letting it discharge completely.
