The Kato 11-109 chassis, widely used for OO9 locos was out of production for a while, so I designed a replacement, the B11-109S, this uses the Kato Core Chassis from an 11-108 or 11-110. • This video in 4 parts showing different chassis operations. Please excuse the fingers, and poor focus at times ! It was hard to film :) The Kato 11-108 chassis disassembly is similar to the 11-110. • 0:00 - Opening the 11-110 chassis to give the 'Kato Core' • 2:28 - Opening the 11-109 chassis to give the 'Kato Core' • 3:21 - Removing and re-inserting a Kato Core from/to the Brooks B11-109S Adapter • 4:12 - Removing the bottom, Kato base , or keeper plate, then fitting the minimal Thin Keeper plate that is used on the Hunslet 'Thunderbird' ex-tunnelling loco - https://www.brooks3dmodels.com/#TBird - and other upcoming models . • B11-109S Adapter - https://www.brooks3dmodels.com/#B109S - this is available, as just the adapter, or with the Kato Core chassis already fitted. • Update 10/11/2023: • I recently released the Hunslet ex-Tunnelling loco - https://www.brooks3dmodels.com/#TBird using the minimised version of the chassis - https://www.brooks3dmodels.com/#KCore • While making up the chassis, in the last few weeks, I've come across various issues with the Kato 11-109/11-110 chassis, including sticky/tight gear train, loose worm gears and flywheels and if the motor get pulled forwards, then it shorts out the split chassis ! I don't know if these faults have anything to do with the production shut down in 2022. I'll be doing a new video soon, with more info. • Cheers • Nigel
