Changing Compressor Oil

The new Sanborn Compressor is working some good. But I want to change the oil in it, so here goes!!! • The manual says change the oil every 100 hours. That sounds like a long time. My compressor probably only runs about 20 minutes a day, if that. So I wanted to check it well before the 100 hour mark. • Also, during manufacture, a compressor, or any machine for that matter, is liable to have bits and pieces of who knows what end up in the crank case sump. This debris and contamination is not wanted in the crank case, so I thought if I change out the oil maybe I could flush a lot of this contamination away with the old oil. • The compressor doesn't take a whole lot of oil, so changing it isn't a big deal as far as having old oil that needs to be re-cycled. I couldn't find it in the manual, but I figure the crank case will only take about a 250 ml of oil. Not a lot eh. • I also do some other visual maintenance checks and some general clean up of the compressor while I have it out in the shop. Have a look and see how I make out. This isn't a big job, and if the manual says to change the oil every 100 hours, it probably doesn't, or won't, get done very often. But I lost my last compressor because I didn't do regular maintenance and I don't want to lose this one, so here I am, changing the oil and doing some general maintenance!!! • Thanks a lot for watching and if you are new to the channel I am excited to have you drop by. I hope you come back often.
