After 38-year-old loser Lapin's disability benefit for narcissistic personality disorder is suspended, and his parents cut off his allowance, he is forced to move back to Lapinville, his hometown, where he decides to participate in a podcast-therapy program. Spiruline, a social worker and intern at Lapinville city hall, is enthusiastic and always keen to help, or even over-help. Soon, she uncovers the dark secrets of Madam Mayor. One by one, the town's inhabitants testify in order to understand how, one thing leading to another, they wound up provoking the destruction of the planet.
