Part one of my #MusicTheory analysis on the Forest Temple Theme from #Zelda #OcarinaofTime • Decided I wanted to try a bit of a different direction with the channel. Along with these analysis type videos I'll still be putting out arrangements as well, so stay tuned. • This was a project that I've wanted to do for a long time, especially since this is one of those tracks that is just so iconic in that it's so hard to describe. It's seriously one of those pieces that is just so full of Aha moments as you peel back its layers, so I really thought there should be a heavier analysis on it out there. That being said, I'm totally not a trained music theorist, so I apologize for any mislabelings, inconsistencies, just being flat out incorrect, blah blah. I really had a ton of fun working on this, so I hope some of you get a lot out of it. It may be a little on the esoteric side, so let me know if you feel like it went over your head a little too much. It errs more on the side of someone who has a good foundation on music theory concepts. • Now that I have a sense of what putting something like this together is like, I think I have a good list of things to improve on for the next of these sorts of videos. I'm honestly kind of sick of writing about the Forest Temple Theme, so I'll be covering a couple other tracks before putting the second part together. Some Zelda, some not. They'll (hopefully) be a little simpler and to the point. • Thank you so much for checking out this totally rough first attempt. • ----------------------------------------- • Subscribe for more in the future: / @mcranemarimba • --------------------------------------------------------- • Marimba Arrangements: • Marimba Arrangements • --------------------------------------------------------- • Contact me: [email protected] • --------------------------------------------------------- • 0:00 Intro • 2:30 Concepts Covered • 3:20 Music and Affect • 4:38 Modes and Polymodality • 8:40 Rattling (Angklung) • 9:14 Glass Harmonica • 17:16 Flute and Chant • 22:32 Composite • 29:13 Outro
