Mount Timpanogos via Timpooneke Trail - BEST Hikes in Utah - Mount Timpanogos is a MUST DO HIKE in Utah near Salt Lake City. Mount Timpanogos, often referred to as Timp, is the second highest mountain in Utah's Wasatch Range. Timpanogos rises to an elevation of 11,752 ft above sea level. This is a 14.3 mile hike out-and-back trail. Considered to be extremely challenging. This hike will take you 8-10 hours or more. Don't forget to include the time you'll spend at the summit. This area is known for great backpacking, camping, and hiking, so you will see a lot of people during this hike. The best times to visit this trail are June through October.
