I took a look into the shrinking sizes of cake mixes all because of one recipe I found that had an 18.25oz box of cake mix listed as an ingredient and it just didn't seem like those existed anymore... and I was right. Truth is, cake mix boxes have been shrinking over the last 35-40 years. Started off at 18.5oz then 18.25, and now all the way down to 13.25oz for some brands. This is shrinkflation. The way companies can shrink the product slowly without you the customer noticing. They keep the price the same and you get less product. And here I am...making a video on it because my curiosity got hold of me.
