TIP OF THE DAY: One Foot Salchows are a great exercise for those working on their double and triple Sal! Here are the benefits if done the right way: • 1. It keeps you on top of your left side so you can have a strong take off that does not lean. Common mistakes of the salchow include dropping your weight towards your right side while gliding on the inside edge of the entrance. • 2. It instils a strong check position. If you move your left arm outside of the circle you will find yourself spinning too much so these exercises force you to keep the left arm in front and the right arm back on the entrance. • 3. It helps you drive your right arm and right side through at the same exact time in order to go all the way around. • 4. Lastly, this drill forces you to create good timing for your takeoff.
