I get a lot of really cool basses in the shop, but this ranks at the top of the cool food chain in my book. These were among the most innovative basses of the 80s. Headless design with a very unique bridge/tuner setup. But what really set these basses apart was the E string extender that brought it down to a D without having to alter fingering. There’s a lever that frets the string at the nut location for your low E, and it easily flips to stow itself below the string, effectively lowering that string to a D. • This one was brought to me in a pretty trashed state, so I did my magic and brought it back to life. I will be uploading a video of that restoration at some point. • Kubicki basses are still available, along with parts and support, through Guitar Doctor, who was given the rights to Kubicki's designs upon his passing. https://kubicki.com/
