The XLOOKUP formula WILL SAVE YOU TIME and energy. Using it to quickly look through tables, understand data, and assign people certain commissions based off their sales or salary are only a few things that XLOOKUP can do for you. See a description of each part of the video I explain: • 1) XLOOKUP for EXACT match – Using XLOOKUP can help you find data in a data table when you select a lookup value, select a lookup array that has that same value, and then select a return array of the same length as the lookup array to return the value you are looking for. XLOOKUP for exact matches are very powerful and can help you sift through large amounts of data quickly in excel to find what you are looking for • 2) XLOOKUP when there is an ERROR – When there is an Error, XLOOKUP cannot find your lookup value in the lookup array, OR your arrays are not the same size. The function has a built in if error value that you can have it return if there is an error. You can type a message, give the error a value, or make the cell blank, whenever there is an error. • 3) XLOOKUP for two fields – Using the XLOOKUP function with two fields is AMAZING. It replaces the index match formulas. You must use two XLOOKUP formulas to search across 2 fields. When you come to the return array criteria, you enter another XLOOKUP function and type another formula for your second lookup criteria. Setting up this formula makes it easy to copy and paste it in a table or quickly change fields you are looking for – if you write it well, you will only have to write the formula once. • 4) XLOOKUP for APPROXIMATE Match – The approximate match is used when you are looking for numbers that are typically in a range. For example, commission rates, tax rates, bonus, etc. can all use the approximate match feature to search for an exact match or the next larger or smaller value. • Like and subscribe if you learned something new or want to stay on top of excel formulas/analysis. • 0:00 - Intro • 0:21 - Overview • 0:41 - Exact Match • 1:25 - XLOOKUP and Errors • 2:00 - XLOOKUP with TWO Criteria • 4:07 - Approximate Match • 6:57 - Outro
