I bought this palm about 8 years ago as a very small Trachycarpus sp Kumaon and now that is has become larger I believe it is one! There is much discussion within the Trachycarpus family and many things are not clear, but this palm does look really different than a normal fortunei. • Trachycarpus sp Kumaon comes from Northern India. They grow in a border area between Nainital and Kalamuni and has characteritics of both palms (Trachycarpus Nainital Takil). Fast growth, beautiful silver colour under the large and stiff leaves and very winterhardy! • Trachycarpus sp. Kumaon is often confused with the the Takil, they have about the the same look, but the Takil was very slow growing and not really hardy in my garden. • Our Trachycarpus sp Kumaon has finally picked up his fast rate of growth after it was transplanted to our new garden. So I'm really looking forward to the next few years. It's just so beautiful! For now, it's my favorite palm in the garden! • #tropicalgardening #tropicalgarden #trachycarpus
