In this étude, the right hand constantly plays fast-moving passages that move up and down in small half-step intervals, creating a fluid, chromatic sound. The right hand also plays chromatic scales simultaneously with three-note chords, requiring the pianist to use the third, fourth, and fifth fingers extensively to execute the chromatic scales. • This sheet music is an autograph from The Nydahl Collection at the Stiftelsen Musikkulturens Främjande museum, personally written by Frédéric Chopin.
